Here is the latest on the Rt. 4A Sewer line and connection under Shaker Landing Road. Landing Road schedule is as follows: Friday 9/22 Install CO 1 Manhole (Landing Road toward Route 4A) Monday 9/25 to Tuesday 9/26 - 0+00S to SMH-1 (Existing manhole lower Landing Road to top of hill) Wednesday 9/27 to Thursday 9/28 – SMH-1 to SMH-2 (Top of Hill to existing pavement cut) Notes compiled from a couple of different emails, hopefully in increasing chronological order: They will be coring the existing manhole at lower Landing Road tomorrow morning, Tuesday 9/26, between 9 and 11. When they are installing the CO Manhole in Landing Road Kingsbury will need to maintain one lane open for traffic. When they are installing the Sewer Line from 0+00 from down on lower Landing Road to SMH 1 residents of the lower units will probably want to park at the top of the hill as they will have a fairly deep trench up the driveway and access may not be possible for a short period of time. Kingsbury will need to determine how to manage traffic during installation of SMH 1 to SMH 2, but one lane must be left open for traffic. I have included Rob Maccini of Kingsbury on this email. I (Jeff) apologize Ray, I didn’t get the information from Kingsbury until 4:30 yesterday as they were waiting on their concrete coring sub to confirm availability. On a side note, they excavated next to the existing manhole on the uphill side this morning to get ready to core the manhole. Ledge was found directly outside the manhole sloping up the roadway. They will be moving in an excavator today with a hydraulic hammer to break the ledge to get the manhole cored and install the first piece of pipe. I expect them to be back there tomorrow hammering rock and installing pipe. We are hoping that they will come out of the ledge as they move up the hill away from the manhole. The proposed pipe is on a 12% slope in that section so it will be coming up quickly. I will let you know if the schedule changes but cars should be able to get in and out today from the Lower Landing Road. Tomorrow may be different. The forcemain cleanout manhole has been installed in Landing Road. They had to move it towards Shaker Landing about 25’ due to unmarked underground power and utilities being found in the trench down 8 feet in the roadway. Gravel installation will follow. Pavement patching will be completed when their paving contractor mobilizes in a few weeks.
